Jake and I went to the park yesterday. The park, any park, is a great place for boys to release some energy. My brother, who has a 2 year old blue heeler said of puppies, the more active time the better the puppy’s temperament. I think the same rule applies to young boys. At the park we met Jake’s cousin Kyle. Kyle is four, just about a year older than Jake and quite a bit more exuberant. Kyle is one of those boys who are on full throttle most of the time. It’s great to see the two boys together; they keep each other entertained and play well together. Kyle’s mom and I were able to have a rare sit down talk during park time; the boys were playing so well. The park we were at was in a natural bowl, so the boys could run around in big circles and not escape our view. There were a bunch of girls playing on the equipment but so far the boys were oblivious of them. Just as we, the two moms, started to relax Kyle runs up to the edge of the hill eye level to the playground, drops ‘trou’ and says “I need to pee!” Pants around his ankles, full view of the girls, proudly arcing a long stream down the hill… he had the biggest mischievous smile plastered over his face. Of course, by the time his mom had scrambled up the hill the event was over. Mission accomplished! Oh, they can be such little stinkers sometimes.
Happy Monday!
